Evan M. Newman
If you ask Evan M. Newman how he makes a difference in his client’s lives, he would tell you it’s his way of being hands-on.
“I take pride in doing what I can to make sure everyone has the opportunity to get quality legal service,” he explains. “Everyone deserves their day in court, as well as someone who is compassionate and cares about their case. My clients are not just a number to me; they’re my neighbors. They’re people who truly need help.”
As the owner of the Daniel, Daniel, & Newman law firm, Evan makes sure to personally meet with every client at the outset and take the time to learn about their injury, criminal arrest, divorce, or need for setting up a will or trust. He then explains their legal rights and options to them in plain English — and no “legalese” — as well as what could lie ahead in their case. Once Evan takes a case, he approaches things with vigor and dedication, all the while remaining responsive to his client.
While results and client satisfaction are Evan’s priorities, he also takes responsibility for living up to the Daniel name, particularly the trust and respect that it has brought to many generations of Grainger County citizens. Evan is the great-nephew of Creed Daniel, a legendary attorney for Grainger County and Eastern Tennessee, and a cousin to the late Dirk Daniel. He knows that the Daniel surname stands for integrity, honesty, compassion, and putting clients’ best interests first.
As a full-service law practitioner, Evan helps clients in matters such as:
- Personal Injury – Car, truck, and motorcycle accidents; slip-and-fall/premises liability; wrongful death
- Criminal Defense – DUI, assault/battery, drug crimes, felonies, misdemeanors, traffic citations
- Estate Planning – Wills, trusts, probate, power of attorney
- Family Law — Divorce, alimony, child custody, adoption, property/asset division
- Real Estate – Purchase agreements, residential real estate, real estate transactions
“It means the world to me that I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on others and assist them during challenging times of their lives,” says Evan, a Grainger County resident and native whose family has called the area home for several generations. “Everyone deserves equal justice.”
Evan also has a passion for serving the Grainger County community that extends beyond his law office doors. He is a congregant of Fairview Baptist Church, sits on the board of directors for Renovatus Recovery Community, and is a board member for The Mission, a Christian assistance and anti-displacement ministry. Evan is also strongly involved with Gideon’s International and Gideon’s of Grainger County. He cites his yearning “to glorify God with my gifts and to represent and to serve my fellow man” as his motivation for philanthropy and community involvement.
He earned his law degree in 2016 from Nashville School of Law, following his undergrad from the University of Tennessee. Evan’s alma maters also include Rutledge High School and Walters State Community College. When not attending worship services and events at his church, Evan can be found spending time with his wife and children, as well as cheering on “the Vols” at University of Tennessee games.
